During Apple’s most recent earnings call, CEO Tim Cook said the service had been “fast off the blocks,” although that assertion is vague enough that it could mean anything from the number of games to user satisfaction rates to subscriber numbers. That works out at a couple of new titles per week.Īpple has not released any Apple Arcade subscriber numbers so far. It debuted with 72 games and has since added around 40 more. ![]() Apple designed the service to give high-quality original games an opportunity to thrive in a field full of freemium titles. Apple Arcade: Crossy Road Castle and much moreĪpple Arcade costs $4.99 per month for a game selection of more than 100 titles. It raked in Scrooge McDuck levels of money for an indie title, pulling in $10 million in its first 90 days. The original Crossy Road, as noted, became a massive hit for developer Hipster Whale. It also offers Apple Arcade’s PS4 and Xbox controller support, as well as multidevice functionality. Crossy Road Castle supports up to four players locally.
